Health Canada Warns of Potential Health Issues From Face Masks That Contain Graphene
On April 2, 2021, Health Canada issued an advisory regarding disposable face masks containing graphene (RA-75309). Health Canada is advising Canadians not to use face masks that contain graphene as there is a potential of inhaling graphene particles, which may pose health risks. Masks manufactured with graphene are labelled as containing graphene or "biomass graphene".
Consult your health care provider if you have used graphene face masks and have health concerns, such as new or unexplained shortness of breath, discomfort or difficulty breathing.
Report any health product containing graphene to Health Canada.
Health Canada is currently taking action to stop any masks containing graphene from being sold, as well as from being imported.
Levac Supply Ltd. is not selling, nor has ever sold, masks that contain graphene. Should you have any further concerns or questions regarding masks you purchased at Levac Supply, please contact Mark or Randy Levac at our Kingston office or Terry Levac at our Brockville office.
