A fit test ensures the proper use of respiratory devices, avoiding hazardous airborne particles or chemicals.

Fit tests are also required by Canadian and Ontario legislation and mandated by the Ontario (OHSA) for any worker exposed to potentially harmful airborne particles such as dust, mists, or gases.

Workers need a new fit test if it has been two years since their last one or if they show changes to the user’s physical condition that could affect the respirator to fit properly such as lost or gained weight, or changes in their face shape.
